JACKSON COUNTY WOMAN CLAIMS LAST NIGHT'S
$15 MILLION FLORIDA LOTTO™ JACKPOT

TALLAHASSEE--The Florida Lottery announced today that FLORIDA LOTTO™ winner Dawna Marie McAlpin, 33, of Alford, claimed the $15 million jackpot drawn on August 19.

McAlpin chose the one-time, lump-sum payment for the winnings in the amount of $8,634,850.00. The winning FLORIDA LOTTO Quick Pick ticket was purchased at Handi Mart, located at 1342 Highway 69 in Grand Ridge. The retailer received a bonus incentive of $40,000 for selling the jackpot-winning ticket.

The winning numbers were:

14 - 16 - 17 - 19 - 43 - 45

Mrs. McAlpin is employed by the Handi Mart where the winning ticket was sold. "Not much is going to change. I am going to keep working, and we are going to finish remodeling our house," she said.

Total ticket sales for this jackpot generated approximately $11.5 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF). Since 1988, the Florida Lottery has contributed more than $19 billion to the EETF, benefiting our students and schools, as well as funding more than one million Bright Futures scholarships. By a two-to-one margin, Florida voters in 1986 approved a constitutional amendment authorizing the state to operate a lottery for the purpose of generating significant additional moneys for education.

McAplin is the seventh FLORIDA LOTTO jackpot winner to purchase a winning ticket in Jackson County.

The next FLORIDA LOTTO drawing will be held on Saturday, August 22, at 11:15 p.m. ET with a $3 million base jackpot. Webcasts of Florida Lottery drawings are available on the Lottery's Web site at flalottery.com.
