ALACHUA WOMAN CLAIMS $253,795 TALLAHASSEE--The Florida Lottery announced today that FANTASY 5® winner Karen Love, 49, of Alachua, claimed the $253,795.76 FANTASY 5 top prize drawn on August 8. Love's winning ticket was a free Quick Pick ticket she had won in a previous FANTASY 5 drawing for matching two numbers. Love received her winning FANTASY 5 Quick Pick ticket at Kangaroo Express, located at 9260 N.W. 39th Avenue in Gainesville. The retailer received a bonus incentive of $500 for selling the top prize winning ticket. The winning numbers were: 12 - 20 - 26 - 28 - 30 Total ticket sales for this top prize generated approximately $327,000 for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF). Since 1988, the Florida Lottery has contributed more than $19 billion to the EETF, benefiting our students and schools, as well as funding more than one million Bright Futures scholarships. By a two-to-one margin, Florida voters in 1986 approved a constitutional amendment authorizing the state to operate a lottery for the purpose of generating significant additional moneys for education.
