SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION

  1. Escambia County
Washington High School, which opened in August 2007, represents one of the six schools that had modular classrooms added with Lottery funds. The six-school project, provided space for more than 1,300 students and teachers at area schools in Escambia County.
  3. Citrus County
The Renaissance Center, an alternative middle/high school in Citrus County, was built with Lottery funds and opened in the fall of 2006.

  2. St. Johns County
Hickory Creek Elementary School, which opened in the fall of 2005, provided classrooms for 616 students. Hickory Creek, built with Lottery funds, was designed with four "houses", each having eight classrooms with movable walls and a large common instructional space. It includes state-of-the-art technology with LCD projectors, audio enhancement, and wireless Internet.
  4. Lake County
Grassy Lake Elementary School opened in August 2007. Built with Lottery funds, this 90,462 square-foot, two-story elementary school provides classrooms for 940 students in grades K-5.


    5. Lee County
East Lee County High School, built with Lottery funds, opened in August 2007. The construction of this two-story, 325,000 square-foot school provided classrooms for 2,000 students.
